This year, once again, we were thrilled to be part of the FAF event in Cologne. Among our array of new products, we had two surprises up our sleeves. Our goal was to showcase how tradition and innovation go hand in hand at Mesko, enhancing our offerings in exciting ways.
We take great pride in our traditional method of handcrafting brushes, a craft that holds a special place in our hearts. Many people have used brushes, but few know how they're made. So, we decided to demonstrate it live at our booth. The response from visitors exceeded our expectations, showing a real appreciation for preserving this craft in our digital age.
But we're not stuck in the past. Alongside our craftsmen, we had a robot at our booth. We've started using robots more to make our processes smoother and tackle the shortage of skilled workers. Whether it's in production, packaging, or quality control, robots are now indispensable in our brush factory. The interest and conversations sparked by their presence showed us that embracing both tradition and innovation is the way forward.
We want to thank everyone who visited our booth. Your interest and support inspire us to keep striving for excellence. See you next time!
Mesko Brush Makers produces a diverse range of approximately 10,000 brushes for both craftsmen and artists. Brushes are fabricated through mechanized processes or in adherence to traditional handmade techniques. This legacy is rooted in the extensive history of brush making within the Ansbach district.
Just recently, Süddeutsche Zeitung visited us. Many thanks to Maximilian Gerl for your interest and the great article about our brush factory! (click for PDF)

In 2023, the German Pavilion in Venice becomes a workshop for six months. Used building materials from past exhibitions will be repurposed there. Architecture students and apprentices from the crafts will use the materials to perform minor repairs and maintenance work in collaboration with local initiatives in the city of Venice. We have supported the project workshop by donating numerous brushes.
The workshop in Venice was inaugurated, among others, by German Federal Minister for Building, Klara Geywitz. She was particularly impressed not only by the concept itself but also by the collaboration between students and apprentices in the workshop.
Our MESKO brushes are in daily use there and are indispensable for this unique project! Apprentices from various vocational schools in the painting and varnishing trade, in collaboration with the Sto Foundation, renovated a cultural center in Venice.
Students from the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf, together with students from Münster, installed sanitary facilities in an old salt storage warehouse. Students from RWTH Aachen have built a new ticket booth for a small football club in Venice - and painted it in the club's colors with their Mesko brushes.
Finally, students from the Alanus University used their brushes for further maintenance work on the German Pavilion in Venice.
Another milestone in a long-term partnership was set. The MEGA group and the MESKO brushes have jointly developed the new brush range "Konex®" especially for processing water-based paints!
The new innovative Konex range has been available exclusively in all MEGA locations since April 2019!
